How Much Does Trademark Registration Actually Cost in India, Including Government Fees?

Two separate line items make up the real cost, and it's worth understanding both, because the way filing services present them varies a lot.

The government fee (fixed, non-negotiable)

This is paid directly to the Trade Marks Registry, and it's identical no matter who files on your behalf:

• ₹4,500 per class for individuals, startups, and MSMEs (with valid registration under the applicable government scheme)
• ₹9,000 per class for all other applicants, including most companies

This fee is per class — if you're filing in three classes, it's charged three times. No filing service can legitimately reduce or waive this; it goes straight to the Registry, not to whoever files for you.

The professional fee (varies by provider)

This is what you pay a filing service or advocate for the work: the clearance search, the classification review, and drafting and filing Form TM-A. We charge a single, fixed professional fee per class for that, with no subscription. See the current figure and what's included on pricing.

What's billed separately, and quoted upfront

If your application draws an examination objection or is listed for a show-cause hearing, or if your accepted mark is formally opposed, each of those is a separate, scoped engagement — priced and agreed with you in writing before any work begins, not billed as a surprise afterward.
